One University Postgraduate Award may be awarded to an eligible domestic applicant for postgraduate research scholarships whose tertiary performance has been affected by exceptional personal circumstances. The special circumstances provision allows the Higher Degree by Research Scholarships Committee to award a scholarship to an applicant who may otherwise be ranked too low in the order of merit list to be offered a scholarship. Please note that this scholarship is only for postgraduate research students - it is not available for coursework students.
Exceptional circumstances may include illness, chronic medical conditions, disability, caring or family responsibilities, death or serious illness of close family or friends, traumatic events, family breakdown and other significant factors which have adversely affected academic results.
Supporting documentation, such as medical certificates and/or a statement outlining the grounds for special consideration must be provided.
There is no separate application form.
Available in the 2021 Round for Domestic applicants and UWA international graduates only
