Prider having donated the sum of $30,000 for the establishment of a travel scholarship in honour of his late son, Rodney, who was an exceptionally distinguished student and a tutor in the then Department of Classics and Ancient History. The purpose of the scholarship is to support travel and historical study related to research in Mediterranean countries or the Middle East for a student who is enrolled in a postgraduate research course in Classics and Ancient History at the University.
