- Title
- Ammonia recovery from wastewater: a source of green energy PhD Scholarship
- Description
- This PhD project aims at establishing a sustainable NH3/H2 energy industry that is based on circular economy principles. To this end, it is proposed to explore the feasibility of recovering ammonia from wastewater using bipolar membrane electrodialysis (BPMED). The BPMED system will be designed and fine-tuned to improve ammonia recovery as ammonium hyrdoxide. Thereafter, the recovered ammonium hydroxide can be used as fuel or as hydrogen carrier. This technology will contribute to green-house gas reduction. This is a project jointly funded by Water Corporation WA and the CSIRO H2 future science platform that offer an excellent pathway to a future in the green industry.
