Ada Jackson Irwin Street Commemoration Award in Zoology [F51189]
Description

Mrs Ada Fawcett (nee Jackson) donated the sum of $2000 to the University of Western Australia ('the University') to establish a fund to assist female students in zoology undertaking research into the fauna of Western Australia. This award was established both as a memorial to the early days of the University in Irwin Street and to encourage women's interest, understanding and involvement in studying the natural world.

The Ada Jackson Irwin Street Commemoration Award in Zoology is a $2,000 research operating and travel allowance.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply an applicant must -

  • be female;

  • be enrolled in a HDR in the School of Biological Sciences; and 

  • be undertaking research into the fauna of Western Australia.

Applications must be emailed to the School of Biological Sciences Office prizes-sbs@uwa.edu.au by the 5 April 2019.

Applications must include the following documents:

(i) a statement of no more than 500 words addressing the selection criteria and eligibility criteria;

(ii) a current Curriculum Vitae; and

(iii) a budget for the proposed research operating costs and travel expenditure.
