Minerals Research Institute of Western Australia (MRIWA) Director Postgraduate Scholarship

The Minerals Research Institute of Western Australia is a statutory body established by the Western Australian Government under the Minerals Research Institute of Western Australia Act 2013 to stimulate minerals research to support investment in, and operation of, a globally competitive minerals industry in Western Australia.

The MRIWA Director Scholarship is offered to encourage postgraduate research by students of exceptional research promise in particular fields which MRIWA Directors believe to be critical to the future development of the Minerals Industry in Western Australia.

The three fields are:  In situ leaching, Data Analytics and Scale up from Bench to Production. 

The MRIWA Director Scholarship provides an annual stipend for up to three years plus an additional six months extension if required.  Further information about both the activities of the Minerals Research Institute of Western Australia and its scholarship program can be obtained by visiting the website

Any applicant for the MRIWA's Director Scholarship must have submitted an Expression of Interest to MRIWA at anytime before the closing date. The EOI is to include your name, your graduating university, two references, a short description of your proposed research topic (maximum one page) and the name of your intended research supervisor and institution.

 Note: Applicants must submit an expression of Interest to MRIWA, as well as completing the online iAthena application form to apply for PhD enrolment and scholarships at UWA.

The EOI must include:  a short summary of the proposed research, which must fit within the guidelines of the MRIWA research priority plan and the name of your proposed research supervisor.
