Vice Chancellor's Awards of Distinction
Five awards of $5000 each will be made to students who demonstrate excellence not only in their academic studies but also in some other aspect of their lives.
Applicants will show academic achievement across five TEE subjects/WACE courses of study as well as extracurricular achievements in categories including the arts, sport, community development, academia and leadership.
Eligibility
To be eligible for these awards students must: • be permanent residents or citizens of Australia; • have applied through TISC for a place at UWA, nominating a UWA course as their first preference for the first round of offers; • demonstrate a high level of achievement across five TEE subjects/WACE courses of study in 2009; • provide evidence of some other outstanding achievement (eg Captain of School, community service, sport, the arts, public speaking, Maths/ Science Olympiads, Duke of Edinburgh award); • intend to commence studies at UWA in 2010.

After submitting an online application, a hard-copy application confirmation will need to be submitted to the UWA Scholarships Office.
Please be aware that, in recent years, applicants achieving a TER lower than 97.00 were not competitive for a Vice-Chancellor's Award of Distinction.
Successful applicants will be contacted from 31st December 2009; please make sure you provide the correct contact details for this time of year.
Please note: these awards must be taken up in the year for which they are awarded.
