UWA Fogarty Foundation City & Regional Scholarships

In 2010, The University of Western Australia Fogarty Foundation Undergraduate Scholarship Programme is offering up to ten city scholarships and four regional scholarships. The scholarships will be awarded to senior secondary students who show significant academic potential together with a strong sense of community involvement and responsibility.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the city scholarship applicants must:
• be a permanent resident or citizen of Australia;
• have applied through TISC for a place at UWA, nominating a UWA course as their first preference for the first round of offers;
• be enrolled in at least five TEE subjects/WACE courses of study (or equivalent) in a Western Australian secondary school or through the School of Isolated and Distance Education in 2009, which could be reasonably expected to lead to the calculation of a TER (ATAR) to satisfy admission requirements for entry into the nominated course at this University;
• have their application for the scholarship endorsed by their school principal;
• commence their course within one year from when the UWA offer is made; and
• be willing to commit to participating in a leadership and development programme.

To be eligible for the regional scholarships applicants must:
• meet all of the abovementioned eligibility requirements;
• normally reside in a regional area; and
• normally have completed the last two years of their secondary school education in a regional area
(although in exceptional circumstances this condition may be waived).
