The University of Western Australia has always celebrated excellence, and for this reason is committed to recognising outstanding students in schools throughout the State. The University is pleased to offer an award to one student from each senior secondary school in Western Australia. These students will have been nominated by their schools as the student most likely to succeed at university. Students completing a two-subject mature-age TEE/WACE are also eligible for nomination by their school. In addition to a cash award, recipients are guaranteed an offer of a place at UWA in the first round of offers, independently of the TER (ATAR) cut-off for that course, as long as they meet the University’s minimum entry requirements and have a UWA first preference for the first round of offers (exceptions apply to Music, Medicine and Dentistry - see 'additional information' below). Eligible students who accept places in Medicine, Dentistry or Music will still receive the other benefits of this award. Eligible students who have nominated Medicine, Dentistry or Music as a first preference, but whose application is unsuccessful, will be guaranteed a place in the UWA course that they nominate as their next preference, and will still receive the other benefits of this award.
