Indigenous Enabling Scholarships
The Indigenous Enabling Scholarships are aimed at Indigenous students who are undertaking an Aboriginal Orientation Course.
Two types of scholarship are available:
- Commonwealth Education Costs Scholarship - Indigenous Enabling (CECS-IES) is valued at $4,415 in 2009
- Commonwealth Accommodation Scholarship - Indigenous Enabling (CAS-IES) is valued at $4,415 in 2009
The duration for both scholarships is up to one year, made as two payments (one each semester).
The scholarship will not be regarded as income by Centrelink in means-tested benefits.
Indigenous Enabling Scholarships
To qualify for a CECS – Indigenous Enabling Scholarship and/or a CAS - Indigenous Enabling Scholarship you must be:
Also, you must not already have completed the requirements of a course of study which is equivalent to or higher than an Australian bachelor's award.
Applicants for a CAS–Indigenous Enabling Scholarship must also meet the criteria described in 'Commonwealth Accommodation Scholarship - additional criteria', within the four years immediately preceding the commencement of the Aboriginal Orientation Course. |
