FAHSS Undergraduate Commencement Scholarships

The Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences offers seven scholarships to prospective first-year students interested in studying in the Faculty.

The scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit as evidenced by the Tertiary Entrance Rank, as well as demonstrated leadership, motivation, involvement in community or co-curricular activities, and a referee's report.

Types

Four scholarships of $1,000 each per year for three years are available to eligible students regardless of their suburb of residence.

Three scholarships of $2,000 each per year for three years will be awarded to eligible students who attend targeted schools, as specified by the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.

Payment

Each scholarship will be paid in two payments per year.

The continuation from semester to semester is subject to scholarships holders making satisfactory progress (that is, passing all your exams) in the previous semester.

Note: The Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences reserves the right not to provide funds in any year for the award of one or more scholarships.

Eligibility

You must:

  • be a permanent resident of Australia;
  • have completed secondary schooling within the last two years, and
  • be commencing the first year of a bachelor's degree in the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (whether taken as a single degree or in conjunction with another degree).

You must list UWA as one of your preferred institutions in your application for University admission.

The awards will be conditional upon your continued enrolment in an undergraduate degree course in the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.

You may not hold more than one of these scholarships concurrently.
