Ferguson Travel Scholarship in Architecture

The purpose of the Ferguson Travel Scholarship in Architecture is to assist a student completing the final 48 points in the Master of Architecture (Coursework) to pursue and benefit from travel experience and further studies or work in architecture or associated subject areas outside Australia, and further that such experience benefits the architectural community in Australia.
The annual value of the scholarship is $10,000 awarded by a panel consisting of the Dean of the Faculty of ALVA, the President of RAIA (WA) or their nominee and Dr Gus Ferguson.
To be eligible for consideration applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of Australia, have an understanding of and enthusiasm for architecture, have developed academic credibility in the higher level units of the Bachelor of Architecture and have an attitude which, in the opinion of the selection panel, embraces the purposes of the scholarship
Written applications must include the following:
- Proposed programme for the use of the scholarship including:
- details of intended travel
- nature of studies and/or details of proposed work experience and;
- timeframe required to achieve the proposed programme (see condition 11 of the scholarship conditions)
Applicants will be shortlisted for interview on the basis of the above written application and academic merit and will be required to present a folio of practical work at the interview.
