Robert and Maude Gledden Postgraduate Scholarships

The Robert and Maude Gledden Postgraduate Scholarships are prestigious awards offered to encourage and further postgraduate research at The University of Western Australia in applied science, more particularly relating to surveying, engineering, mining or cognate subjects. The scholarships are typically awarded to PhD students enrolled in the Faculties of Engineering, Computing and Mathematics; Natural and Agricultural Sciences; and Life and Physical Sciences. However, relevant applications will be considered from candidates in other Faculties. Applicants must be Australian Citizens or permanent residents of Australia.

The Gledden Scholarships provide a stipend equivalent to the Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) stipend ($26,669 per annum in 2009, indexed annually), plus a travel allowance of up to $5000. Other benefits include Relocation and Thesis Allowances, with a total scholarship package of up to $100,000 over three and a half years.

Application Procedure

Applicants for the Gledden Postgraduate Scholarships should complete the online application form for the Australian and University Postgraduate Awards and attach a 100-word outline of the proposed research project, field of study, and its relevance to the terms of the Gledden Trust.  Information about the Gledden Trust can be found on the Scholarships, Prizes and Endowments website at: http://spe.publishing.uwa.edu.au/latest/endowment/gledden
