TICHR Stan & Jean Perron Awards

The Stan and Jean Perron Awards for 2010 will be awarded for research conducted principally at Telethon Institute for Child Health Research.

With the support of the Stan Perron Charitable Trust, the Telethon Institute for Child Health Research (TICHR) has established several prestigious awards aimed at supporting exceptional postgraduate research students who are undertaking their research at the Institute.

Value

The Stan are Jean Perron awards are “top-up” stipends, to accompany primary scholarships such as the Australian and University Postgraduate Awards which commence in 2010. The awards are valued at $5000 per year (tax-free) for the duration of the primary scholarships awarded by the enrolling University.

Eligibility

To be eligible for consideration applicants must:
(a) be a citizen or Permanent Resident of Australia; and
(b) be a graduate of this University or of another recognized university;and (c) intend to enrol full-time for a Higher Degree by Research (PhD or equivalent)  and conduct the research principally within the Institute of Child Health Research under the supervision of one or more of the Institute’s researchers.
(d) all applicants accepted for PhD enrolment based at the Institute who are awarded a primary scholarship by their University will be considered for a Perron Award;and
(e) all applicants who are offered an Australian Postgraduate Award (APA) to undertake a PhD based at the Institute will be offered a Perron Award in conjunction with the APA.
