Grace Vaughan Award

Friends and colleagues of the late Grace Vaughan - teacher, social worker, and parliamentarian - established the Grace Vaughan Fund to commemorate her work. The Fund will support individuals studying and working in the areas of social justice and human rights.

Please note that the seminar required by Clause 5 of the Regulations is intended to be an informal talk in the Discipline of Social Work and Social Policy at UWA about the project for which the Fund has been used.

Value of Awards

The projected sum available each year varies, but is generally $2500.

This sum may be awarded to one individual or divided between two or more individuals at the discretion of the Grace Vaughan Award Committee.

How to Apply

Applications should provide:

  • full details of the sum sought
  • the purpose for which it is intended
  • the names and addresses of the two referees who you have asked to forward reports to the Faculty

A curriculum vitę is also suggested.

Previous Awards

The most recent projects for which the Award has been used include:

  • To assist with travel and living expenses whilst undertaking an internship with the Asian Network for Free Elections (ANFREL), helping to improve the quality of elections throughout Asia.
